Today I visited FORWARD (https://www.forward.jpn.com/) again. Even it was raining outside, the vibe was so hot inside. Even in the Sunday evening, many toastmasters are getting together to hold a regular meeting. Principal & TM Ishiwata welcomed me with his big smile again.

The meeting starts at 17:40pm and ends at 19:10pm, for 1.5 hours. It is very efficient and condensed meeting with smooth transitions. As a regular meeting, it had three parts, prepared speech, table topics and evaluations. President TM Oriyo Kanegae opened the meeting with her warm welcome. And she shared the control to TMOD, TM Shoko Suto, who is incoming Area 31 Director. TM Shoko started smoothly by introducing today's theme, "Encourage". Actually the venue was full of encouraging atmosphere. She also introduced the word of the day as "Brightly", that was an encouraging word to use. The role takers explained their roles, TM Nanami as Timer, me as Vote counter, again TM Nanami as Ah Counter and TM Aya Tatsumi as Grammarian. TM Nanami and TM Aya demonstrated very well, although they were the first timers.

The first speaker was TM Megumi Shioya. As her icebreaking speech, she introduced herself by referring to her name. She shared the anecdote with her father regarding the wishes in her name vividly by using excellent body language and facial expressions. Also, she shared her will to become an effective coach by taking a Pathways path. The second speaker was TM Kayoko Akiyama. Her speech was formed by her experiences as a mental therapist. She shared us the story with precise expressions such as the dramatic dialogs and I felt as if I was watching a TV drama. She attracted and involved the audience into her story. The third speaker was TM Saho Sakamoto. She also tried her icebreaking speech by introducing her experiences in her occupation. Her story followed the hero's journey and her message for us was "Continuity brings opportunities". She delivered it successfully by concluding with the experiences in toastmaster's journey.

The table topic session was conducted by TM Oriyo. She picked topics related to this rainy season. 1st table topic speaker was TM Satoko Shimizu. She shared her positive mindset in raining season by demonstrating how fun to share an umbrella with her friends and listen to the sound of raindrops. 2nd table topic speaker was TM Aya, and she shared us how to enjoy the days in June. She shared her experiences in her hometown, Kagoshima, with many typhoons. She illustrated the light of candles while in typhoon and the clear sky through the eye of typhoon. 3rd table topic speaker was TM Naoko Sasaki. She shared her idea in promoting watching movies in June as she loves films. She shared her idea of discount promotion which sounded realistic.

Then, evaluation session was conducted by TM Satoko, General Evaluator. The 1st evaluator, TM Shoko, took her double role and shared a good suggestion. The 2nd evaluator, TM Naoko, delivered good evaluation with one constructive suggestion. The 3rd evaluator, TM Akane Ikuta, shared three good points and two suggestions from her perspective. They all delivered with encouragements. And role takers shared their reports. And amazing thing was almost all speakers used the word of the day successfully. Finally, General Evaluator evaluated all the meeting contents by encouraging the members brightly. Especially she demonstrated how to welcome the speakers brightly. It was the way, indeed.

The award session was conducted, the best table topic speaker was TM Aya, the best evaluator was TM Naoko and the best prepared speaker was TM Saho.

And the closing was the announcement of closing this term and outgoing officers were thanked with grateful applause and incoming officers were welcomed with warm applause. Chikara san, Naoko san and me shared guest comments. It was the last adjourning by TM Oriyo, and I was so lucky to be barely in time for watching her wonderful leadership. FORWARD TMC goes on with opulently encouraging and bright atmosphere.

FORWARD, 2nd Sunday, 17:40- , at FORWARD

今日は、再びFORWARDを訪れました。外は雨でしたが、中の雰囲気は熱気であふれていました。日曜の夕方だというのに、たくさんのトーストマスターが集まって、例会を始めるところでした。トーストマスターでもある石渡校長先生も、また温かい笑顔で迎えて下さいました。

例会は17：40に始まり、19：10に終わる1時間半のコースです。スムーズな運営で、とても効率的で密度の濃い内容です。通常例会として、準備スピーチ、テーブルトピックスピーチ、評価スピーチの三つのパートがありました。

会長の鐘ヶ江織代さんが、温かく皆さんを受け入れ、開会しました。そして、今日の司会である須藤晶子さんにバトンタッチしてくれました。須藤さんは次期エリア31ディレクターです。晶子さんは今日のテーマである「Encourage」を紹介し、順調にスタートしました。実際会場は励ましの雰囲気でいっぱいでした。さらに今日の言葉として、「Brightly」を紹介してくれました。実際励ましの言葉として使えますね。各担当から役割説明がありました。ナナミさんが計時係を、私が投票係を、そしてダブルロールでナナミさんがえーとカウンターを、そして巽アヤさんが文法係を紹介しました。ナナミさんもアヤさんも初めての役割でしたが、とても上手に説明されました。

最初のスピーカーは塩谷メグミさんでした。アイスブレーカーとして、彼女の名前に触れながら自己紹介されました。彼女の名前に託されたお父様の願いの逸話について、素晴らしいボディランゲージや顔の表現で生き生きと紹介されました。また、パスウェイズプログラムによって、彼女は自身の目標でもある結果の出るコーチになることもお話いただきました。二番目のスピーカーは秋山カヨコさんでした。スピーチは心理療法士としての経験からのものでした。ドラマチックな会話を盛り込んで詳細な描写でお話いただき、まるでテレビドラマを見ているようでした。彼女のお話にすっかり聴衆は惹きこまれました。三番目のスピーカーはサカモトサホさんでした。彼女も、仕事にまつわるお話からのアイスブレークスピーチでした。彼女の組み立てはヒーローズ・ジャーニーを踏襲していて、メッセージは、「継続すればチャンスが訪れる」というものでした。トーストマスターでの経験と結論づけることで、上手にまとめられました。

テーブルトピックセッションは、織代さんが担当されました。梅雨に関するトピックを披露されました。最初のテーブルトピックスピーカーは、清水サトコさんでした。梅雨の時期にいかに彼女がポジティブでいられるかを、傘を友達とシェアしたり、傘にかかる雨音を聴いたりすることで紹介されました。二人目のテーブルトピックスピーカーはアヤさんでした。6月にいかに楽しく過ごすかを披露されました。彼女の故郷鹿児島にたくさんやってきた台風について、話してくれました。台風が来ると、停電でろうそくの灯りをともしたり、台風の目から垣間見えた透き通る青空を紹介してくれました。三人目のテーブルトピックスピーカーは、佐々木ナオコさんでした。映画好きなので、6月に映画を見ることをお勧めしてはどうかというお話をいただきました。6月に割引で映画が見れるというアイデアはとても現実的に思えました。

そして評価セッションは総合論評者としてサトコさんが担当されました。最初の論評者は晶子さんで、兼任での評価でしたが、とてもいい提案をされました。二人目の論評者はナオコさんで、建設的な提案を一つ提示いただきとてもいい評価をされました。三人目は生田アカネさんで、三つのよかった点と二つの改善点を彼女の視点から評価されました。皆さん励ましの言葉でとても上手に評価されました。それから役割担当が報告しました。驚くべきは、ほとんど全員が、今日の言葉を使ってスピーチをしていたことでした。最後に総合論評者から、明るくみんなを励ましながら例会すべての評価をされました。特に、スピーカーに登壇していただく際の迎え方をデモンストレーションしてくれました。まさに、これだ、というものでした。

表彰は、ベストテーブルトピックがアヤさん、ベスト論評がナオコさん、ベストスピーカーがサホさんでした。

最後に、今期最後の例会ということで、今期の役員の皆さんに感謝の拍手と、来期の役員の皆さんへの温かい歓迎の拍手がありました。チカラさんとナオコさんと私からゲストコメントがありました。織代さんによる最後の閉会宣言で、彼女の素晴らしいリーダーシップを垣間見るのにどうにか間に合うことができ、本当にラッキーでした。フォワードＴＭＣはこれからも豊かな励ましと明るい雰囲気で続いていきます。

フォワード　第二日曜　17：40から　FORWARDにて
