On this Thursday evening, I could visit Tokyo Toastmasters for the first time in these four years. Tokyo Toastmasters is one of the most famous club in Japan. Holds its long and honorable history, produces many famous and excellent champions (almost all champions have been members these years), earns consecutive President's Distinguished Club awards. This year, such a glittering club joined Division C from Division D. And the club president this term is also the Area 36 Director, TM Chris Cooper.
今週木曜日の夕方、東京トーストマスターズを4年ぶりに訪問することができました。日本で一番有名なクラブの一つです。長い栄光の歴史とたくさんの著名で素晴らしいスピーチチャンピオンを算出してきました。ここ数年のチャンピオンのほぼ全員がこのクラブの出身者です。そして毎年プレジデントディスティングイッシュドアワードを受賞しています。今年、この輝かしいクラブがディヴィジョンDからディビジョンCに移ってきました。さらに、今年は、クラブ会長がエリア36ディレクターでもある、クリス･クーパーさんです。
Chris is such a gentleman from UK. His outstanding leadership is endorsed by his intellectual excellence and gentle personality. He started the meeting smoothly by referring to the anecdote of Thomas Edison. TMOE was TM Rajiv Bhardwaj. The word of the day from TM Takami Shiokawa was "Invigorating".
クリスは英国生まれの生粋のジェントルマンです。彼の飛びぬけたリーダーシップは彼の知性と柔和な性格の成せるところです。ミーティングは、彼のトーマス・エジソンにまつわる逸話からスタートしました。TMOEは、ラジーブ・バルダワジさんでした。今日の言葉は、塩川高美さんから、”Invigorating”が紹介されました。
They had four prepared speakers. They delivered variety of the projects from CC manual, Advanced Communicator manual and Pathways. All the speeches were amazing. Humorous one, invigorating one, serious one and inspiring one, all were exceeding the expectations. This is one of the reasons Tokyo Toastmasters keeps the momentum for long years.
準備スピーチは4人。CCマニュアル、アドバンスドマニュアル、パスウェイズ、いろんなプロジェクトからのスピーチが披露されました。おもしろいもの、元気付けるもの、まじめなもの、影響力のあるもの、すべて期待値を大きく越えていました。このことが長年にわたり、東京トーストマスターズが盛り上がり続けている理由なのだなと思いました。
Table topic session was conducted with the theme of holiday. Even it was the day of Obon, the meeting had a full house. They had many guests including guests from abroad, US and Spain.
Evaluation session was full of learning points. I saw it was another reason to attract the highly motivated toastmasters.
テーブルトピックは、休日をテーマに行われました。お盆にもかかわらず、会場は満席でした。米国やスペインからのゲストもあわせ、たくさんのゲストが参加しました。論評セッションは学ぶ点であふれていました。これもまた、高いモチベーションをもったトーストマスターズの皆さんをひきつけている理由なのだなと思いました。
Tokyo Toastmasters will evolve this term too. Looking forward to seeing another splendid speaker will be made. We will definitely see a new star in the spring Contest season.
東京トーストマスターズは今年も盛り上がることでしょう。すごいスピーカーが登場されるのを楽しみにしています。きっと春のコンテストシーズでは、新しいスターが誕生していることでしょう。
